In the African
traditional society and culture, the last person to give up is always a mother
on her beloved children because of the bonding that develops even when the child
is forming the mother’s womb. The adversities that force a mother to abandon their
own children are immensely unfathomable in any given circumstances.
Sarah was
abandoned at a time she needed the hand up the most. But when all others gave up
on her because of the adversities. SCOSP did not relent among all odds we made
a step forward to rescue her and bring her to safety.
We did not stop at that, like for many other children with albinism, we have kept her protected from all dangers, rented for her a room since she fled with her mother from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, we provided physchosocial support, provided food, shoes, and clothes, sun screen lotion, sun-hat and like for the other PWA we protected her from covid19.
With support from SCOSP, Sarah has spent the first 2 months in School. She has now started a new education journey. SCOSP also enrolled her in school a chance that she did not ever hope for because to her it was a distance dream.
